Paper leak row: Prosecution of accused in NEET, NET cases to be under stringent new law

The government has chosen to prosecute individuals implicated in tampering with this year's NEET-UG and UGC's National Eligibility Test for teaching roles under the newly enacted Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act. The law aims to prevent unfair means in public examinations conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), railways, banking recruitment examinations and the National Testing Agency (NTA), among others.
